Getting around
Be sure to get your Nol card as soon as you arrive in town - it gives you access to the full Dubai Metro and public bus network. With taxis being quite expensive, public transport is clean, efficient and definitely the best way to travel!
When using the Dubai Metro be sure to use the correct cabin. The Metro has fancy 'Gold' carriages (more expensive, and requiring a special ticket) as well as cabins for women and children only. Travelling in the wrong cabin can lead to an expensive fine - check before you get on!
Local customs
The United Arab Emirates is a traditional Muslim country with some laws and customs that may be different to your home country. Be careful about the following things to avoid embarrassment or upsetting your host nation:
